Biswa Bangla shared Sammamish 2019
On the occasion of Durga Puja, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee presented Biswa Bangla Sharad Samman 2019 to 79 community Durga Pujas that received awards in different categories. The Durga Puja festival helps in community development, building relations among people to people besides generating income. From past your years the state government of West Bengal is organizing Durga Puja Carnival that has created a good impact among people. UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) has also agreed to recognize Durga Puja as World Cultural Heritage. About Biswa Bangla Sharad Samman (BBSS) On the occasion of Durga Puja, West Bengal Government has come up with a unique initiative called ‘Biswa Bangla Sharad Samman’. The initiative was started in 2013 and is in its 7th year.
Objective: To recognise and appreciate the brilliance and innovation in organising Durga Puja.
Organised by: Information and Cultural Affairs Department of Government of West Bengal. It is a unique event which annually attracts local, national and international participation in an immensely healthy competition for excellence. This initiative involves Baroari (or Community) pujas from Kolkata, districts of West Bengal, other Indian states as well as from foreign countries to participate and get honoured for their innovative ideas about idols, ambience, pandals, environment and artistry.
